Venezuelan Electoral Authorities Say They Work to Respect the People’s Decisions

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, emphasized that from the electoral body “we will do everything possible to respect the will of the people”, in contrast to certain factors that want to confuse the people by a “little group” of people who see democracy only for their convenience.

He detailed that 3,006 polling stations will be enabled for this drill, where voters will go to know about the entire electoral mechanism provided. Everyone must participate! said Amoroso, noting that the electoral body summoned all candidates to participate in the Agreement of Recognition of Results of the Presidential Election of July 28, 2024.
He asserted that there are some presidential candidates who seek to generate chaos in the country. He also stressed that the electoral body will enforce the will of the sovereign people at the polls. The Electoral Council reported that 3,000 polling stations have been enabled, at the national level, for this Sunday’s drill to the presidential elections of July 28.
Amoroso reiterated that the only requirement to participate in the Electoral Drill is the Venezuelan Identity Card, valid or not, and reported that 1,174 voting centers have been enabled for the Electoral Drill. He said more than 21 million voters are eligible to participate in the 28J electoral process.
In a press conference, he urged political parties to invite their supporters to participate in the Electoral Drill on Sunday, June 30.
Amoroso said that several international delegations are already in Venezuela to observe the process: Carter Center, African Union, United Nations, Electoral Experts, among others.
“The people are fully aware that peace is guaranteed by the electoral processes, and here all the rectors give them faith that it will be a clean and transparent process. There will be elections on July 28. Thank goodness there are observers,” he said.
